미국 할리우드 차병원이 소비자 감시 비영리단체인 립프로그(Leapfrog)의 2024년 가을 전국 병원 안전도 평가에서 A 등급을 받았다. 립프로그는 병원의 오류, 사고, 상해, 감염을 예방하기 위해 전국 3천여 곳의 종합병원을 대상으로 병원이 갖추고 있는 시스템 등 30여 개 이상의 지표를 평가하여 등급을 부여한다. 미국 전역에서 30% 미만의 병원이 A 등급을 받았다.

할리우드 차병원의 제이미 유 병원장은 “이번 성과는 환자 안전을 최우선으로 하는 할리우드 차병원의 변함없는 헌신과 의료진들의 노력의 결실”이라며 “환자들에게 최상의 안락함과 안전을 제공하는 환경을 조성하는 데 최선을 다하겠다”라고 말했다.

립프로그의 병원 안전도 평가는 예방할 수 있는 의료 사고에 중점을 둔 유일한 병원 평가 프로그램이다. 이 프로그램은 동료 평가(peer-review)를 거쳐 투명하게 이뤄지며, 결과는 일반인들에게 공개된다. 등급은 매년 봄과 가을 두 차례 업데이트 된다.
